Thailand top destination in 2012
Tourists are expected to flock to Thailand this summer after it was
named one of the top places in the world to visit.
Thailand ranked fourth in a list, compiled by Conde Nast Traveler, of
the best countries to visit. It was behind only Italy, the US and Turkey
in terms of being a desirable holiday location.
The ranking is an impressive 15-place increase from the country's 2010
placement of 19th. Thailand's islands were also recognised in the best
islands category, where Koh Samui rated fifth and Phuket 13th.
The results mean that more tourists are expected to go on Thailand holidays in 2012 to experience the diverse culture.
Luxury holidays to the country are also expected to increase in
popularity as Thailand was said to offer the warmest welcome to visitors
of any destination worldwide.
Visitors to Thailand in 2012 should be on the lookout for famous faces
following reports that both Colin Firth and Rachel Weisz would be
filming in the country during the year.
