Britons planning to go on holidays to Thailand can witness an unusual sporting spectacle when the country hosts the King's Cup Elephant Polo tournament this month.
The event, which will run until September 12 in the coastal town of Hua Hin, can be a very enjoyable addition to tailor made holidays in Thailand.
The week long extravaganza will witness a number of teams, including British Airways and Mercedes Benz, go trunk to trunk to win the coveted King's Cup trophy.
Held at the royal seaside resort in the Asian country, the event began with a special showcase of seasoned players and parades featuring the pachyderms.
Funds raised from this charitable event will be used for the benefit of all Thailand's elephants. Part of the fund will also be used in a project which helps children with autism.
Tourists can also attend the World Gourmet Festival being held at Bangkok, where guest chefs from around the world will participate.
