Tanzania has always had a good reputation for safari holidays but now it has become one of the best places in the world to spot big game.
The East African country, along with Kenya, was part of the safari tourism boom that first made holidaying to the region popular, but now infrastructure improvements and extra adventure excursions offer so much more for tourists.
Tanzania has worked hard to secure its reputation as one of the top animal spotting destinations in the world and its increasing popularity has led to big improvements around tour organisation.
In the past, roads were bad and old Land-Rovers would take guests out on safari, but now many of the roads are tarmacked and getting between wildlife hotspots is much easier. As a result, luxury holidays to the country can take advantage of the safari trips, the stunning scenery and the great weather, as well as the numerous adventure day-trips for thrill-seekers.
Alongside investment in road-building, Tanzania has also increased its conservation efforts and is now seeing the benefits of protecting the white rhino population. All of this means that tourists are much more likely to spot the animals they have come to see.
