Travellers heading to Egypt for luxury holidays are soon going to have
another must-see to work into their schedule, after officials announced
further details of the much-anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum.

The 300 million-dollar project is currently entering the third and final
stage of its construction, overlooking the Giza Pyramids. The building
and grounds will cover around 117 acres, and will generate around 20,000
new jobs, antiquities minister Mohamed Ibrahim revealed.

The economic potential of the museum - due to open in 2015 - has been
widely welcomed in Egypt, and is seen as a vital boost to an economy.

The new museum, which will host around 100,000 historical artefacts, is
likely to be a big draw for tourists looking for Egypt holidays. Other famous attractions include the Sphinx.

Officials expect an annual tourist footfall of up to eight million, with
cutting-edge technology to be brought in to bring the exhibitions to
life.
