Many yachting lovers will be arranging Caribbean holidays next March when the St Martin Heineken
Regatta comes to the island.
The 2012 event, which will be held between March 1 and 4, has already
seen a number of entries coming in from across the globe and is expected
to offer some exciting sailing for competitors and fans alike.
Le Pingouin Open 60, skippered by Brad Van Liew, and William Wester's
Antelope are among the vessels competing in next year's regatta.
The regatta may well encourage more Britons with a penchant for yachting
to arrange luxury holidays in the Caribbean to watch events unfold.
The Gill Commodores Cup, which is open only to spinnaker-class boats,
will be held on March 1 ahead of the regatta getting properly under way
on March 2.
Guests will have fun-filled evenings after watching or taking part in
each day's sailing.
Black Eyed Peas and Wyclef Jean performed during the previous regattas,
but the 2012 entertainment is yet to be announced.
