Holidaymakers shopping at the Dubai Duty Free retail outlets this month will have the chance to win original artworks by well known contemporary artists.
The airport retailer is offering three paintings - one each by Jaideep Mehrotra, Yousef Arakkal and Wael Hamadeh - as a prize to lucky customers.
It hopes to make shopping at Dubai Duty Free, which is already a big draw for people on Dubai holidays, even more attractive with the latest offer.
As part of a promotional campaign, the group has put up reproductions of the three paintings, which were commissioned by spirits brand Chivas, for shoppers and travellers to see.
Both Mehrotra and Arakkal are based in India and have had their works displayed nationally and internationally. Bangalore-based sculptor Arakkal is a recipient of the Lorenzo De Medici Gold Medal, which he was awarded at the Florence International Biennale in 2006.
Lebanese artist Wael Hamadehis lives in Dubai where many of his artworks are displayed in public places.
Colm McLoughlin, managing director of Dubai Duty Free said: "It is not every day that you have the chance to own an original artwork and the fact that the artists have local connections makes it all the more accessible."
