Shoppers in Dubai are to have their days made even easier, as a result
of plans to build a brand new pedestrian link between the emirate's most
famous attractions.
Dubai, famous world-wide as a luxury holiday haven, also has a global
reputation for its shopping and leisure facilities, including the
world's tallest building (the Burj Khalifa) and the world's largest
shopping centre, the Dubai Mall.
Planners behind the 820 metre long walkway aimed to reduce the amount of
traffic in the area as well as improving visitors' access to Dubai's top
tourist attractions.
Mohamed Alabar, chairman of developers Emaar Properties, said: 'While
Dubai Mall offers covered parking for over 14,000 vehicles, we have been
looking at other ways to streamline visitor traffic.'
As well as luxury shopping and world-class dining, Dubai holidays are also famous for the reliable weather and
beautiful beaches which have made the emirate a favourite destination
for holiday makers.
