Plans have been unveiled for a second non-stop daily flight from Glasgow
to Dubai.
Scottish travellers looking for luxury holidays to Dubai are to have even more opportunities to
travel there.
The new service is to be run by Emirates Airline, which has run a
non-stop service from Glasgow since 2004. The airline's new schedule
will allow an extra 199 passengers to fly each day.
As well as boosting carrying capacity, the new service will also create
12 additional jobs directly, and offer more business for Emirates
Airline's contractors.
The airline, which is based in Dubai, said that the new flight is
indicative of the company's commitment to Scotland, and would raise
"millions of pounds for the overall Scottish economy".
Emirates Airline's UK and Ireland vice-president, Laurie Berryman, said:
"Our Glasgow route has been a real success story, and we are extremely
confident that there is the demand for additional services flying to
Dubai."
