The number of Britons taking Thailand holidays rose 7% year-on-year to over 635,000 during
the first nine months of 2011, according to new figures.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said the rise was mainly
triggered by the ability of the country to attract UK travellers all
year round.
In the previous years, UK travellers took flights to Thailand only
during winter.
Juthaporn Rerngronasa, deputy governor of the TAT, said: "Thailand still
remains excellent value for the British tourist and remains competitive
against the cost of holidaying elsewhere in Asia."
Thailand caters to the interests of all travellers, from backpackers to
those taking luxury holidays, according to Mr Rerngronasa.
