The number of people visiting shopping malls located near the second metro rail network in Dubai has been on the rise since the opening of the line.

Tourists going on Dubai holidays are finding commercial attractions, such as BurJuman mall and Al Ghurair Centre, in the emirate easily accessible, thanks to the opening of the Green Line.

The two shopping malls are located near intersections between the Green and Red lines.

Eisa Adam Ibrahim, the general manager of BurJuman mall, said: "I think the opening of the Green Line has helped us, and we have definitely seen an increase in footfall.

"The usage of the Metro is increasing, [and] people are becoming more interested from day to day, especially at weekends.

"The Green Line is Dubai's second line and has added 18 stations and 23km to the existing rail network, making a total of 47 stops."

The new line may also encourage more people to consider going on tailor made holidays to Dubai as they may now find it easier to get to their favourite spots in the emirate.
