The 2011 Phuket King's Cup Regatta will include an invitation-only
kiteboarding exhibition event by the Kiteboard Tour Asia (KTA).
The thrilling event is to be held as part of the sailing regatta's 25th
anniversary celebrations and in recognition of kiteboarding's rise in
popularity.
The total number of participants in the exhibition event is expected to
be 20 and will include talented kiteboarders from across the world.
Kiteboarding, which could be part of the Olympics in the future, is
becoming a popular sport in Thailand, with the past two seasons of the
World Tour being held in Hua Hin.
Events such as this could make Thailand holidays an attractive option for travellers who love
kiteboarding.
Kevin Whitcraft, president of the Phuket King's Cup Regatta Organising
Committee, said: "We're delighted to welcome an exhibition event by
Kiteboard Tour Asia at this year's Phuket King's Cup."
If sailing doesn't suit all the members of your party, looking at twin
centre holidays may be a good option.
