Visitors to the acclaimed Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival this year will
be delighted to hear that Canadian singing sensation Celine Dion is set
to perform.

The 2012 festival, set to celebrate 50 years of Jamaican independence,
takes place from January 26 to January 28 at the Trelawny Stadium,
Trelawny.

Jamaica has long been a favoured destination for Caribbean holidays and the festival will see Trelawny
transformed as both international superstars and local talent grace the
stages.

Traditional Jamaican music will be celebrated alongside the sounds of
ska, dancehall and reggae that have formed part of the nation's identity
in modern years.

President of the Caribbean Media Exchange, Beyan Springer said: "The
successful bid to attract mega star Celine Dion to the 2012 Jamaica Jazz
and Blues Festival is being viewed as a boost for the festival and for
the region."
