Starting in a little under six months from now on five evenings from May to September next year, the sky above the German city of Hanover will be transformed into a pulsating spectacle.
The 22nd International Firework Competition will be a booming celebration of the art of fireworks with spectacular pyrotechnic performances.
The organisers have claimed that the event will be of "Olympic standard".
The opening shot in the 22nd International Firework Competition will be fired on May 12 by the Mexican team "Pirotécnia Reyes", who outclassed all the other competitors at last year's competition.
The competition then continues on June 9 by the Chinese team "Panda Fireworks", who created a global sensation with their fireworks for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
The pyrotechnic artists of the Portuguese team Grupo Luso Pirotecnia will display its efforts on August 25, followed by Britain's Jubilee Fireworks on September 8 and Mirnovec Pirotehnika of Croatia on September 22.
