Film writers thinking hard about their next storyline may be interested in embarking on a safari holiday to South Africa, after Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx revealed he came up with the idea for his new movie on such a trip.

The Collateral and Ray star told Contactmusic.com that his animation film Welcome to the Jungle is based on ideas he came upon during a trip to a nature reserve in South Africa in 2010.

He started work on the project earlier in 2011, after getting the go-ahead from executives at 20th Century Fox Animation.

Foxx has since undertaken multiple safari trips to Africa to obtain more material for his cartoon creation.

He told Contactmusic: "I got addicted to the safari! We stayed over there so long that I actually started writing it down and I actually sold that to Fox Animation."
