Egypt is trying to boost tourism by hosting conferences, after
experiencing a fall visitor numbers due to a wave of demonstrations and
protests.
The country's two political parties - Freedom and Justice Party and
Al-Nur - are hoping for a leap in tourists taking luxury holidays.
As the tourism industry is a key money earner and source of foreign
currency for the nation, encouraging visitors is a top priority for the
political parties.
The conferences are being launched to explore how best to achieve
Egypt's potential as a travel destination.
Many people are still booking Egypt holidays as accommodation in the country is now cheaper
than earlier times and famous landmarks are less crowded.
By hosting these conferences, the political parties are hoping to build
on successes at the recent World Tourism Day, which was held by the
United Nations World Tourism Organization in Aswan.
