Iranian art collector Ramin Salsali has announced the opening of his art museum in Dubai.
The Salsali Private Museum at Al Serkal Avenue, Al Quoz, is due to showcase unique pieces of contemporary art and is likely to play a game-changing role in the evolution of the emirate's cultural scene.
The privately funded facility may attract hundreds of art lovers from across the globe planning extended Dubai holidays.
Mr Salsali's collection of hundreds of contemporary works will be displayed at the museum when it opens on November 13. A section of the facility has been set aside to enable other individuals and foundations to exhibit their private collections.
The facility is the first of its kind in Dubai that offers art not for sale but for the patrons' appreciation.
Mr Salsali, 45, who is based mostly in Dubai, said: "I am interested in any type of art, I have not limited myself or focused myself. I've bought what I liked to buy, I never had a strategy."
The emirate is already popular among global tourists for its variety of tailor-made holidays.
