Visitors to Saks Fifth Avenue in Dubai's Burjuman Centre will now have a unique opportunity to enjoy and appreciate art thanks to an innovative initiative.
Fashion x Art involves a unique sort of window-shopping experience with impressive autumn/winter window displays created by two well-known artists - Emirati-born Khawla Al Marri and the UAE-raised Kuwaiti-Jordanian Khalid Sharaan.
The presence of more than 100 dignitaries marked the unveiling of the displays, which have the potential to attract large numbers of art lovers on Dubai holidays to the mall.
Frame by frame, window by window, the displays will take shoppers through a story about the cities of New York and Dubai, according to Mr Sharaan, who is a furniture designer by profession.
The initiative is likely to persuade many tourists on their all inclusive holidays in Dubai to pay a visit to the mall and enjoy the novel shopping experience.
"There is a natural synergy between the worlds of fashion and art. This is a focal part of Saks' DNA and we are thrilled to celebrate and highlight this through the exhibition," said Carla Daaboul, marketing manager for Saks Fifth Avenue.
