Football fans taking Dubai holidays will be on the lookout for Real Madrid star
Cristiano Ronaldo following the news that he's to appear at a charity
sale this month.
On December 28, shirts signed by leading football players such as
Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alessandro
Del Piero will go under the hammer at the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa.
The proceeds from the Champions for Children charity sale will be
donated to Save the Children.
Tourists taking luxury holidays in the emirate will also have the chance
to take part in a competition, with 10 lucky people winning the
opportunity to meet Ronaldo and get a Save the Children T-shirt signed
by the former Manchester United player.
Soha Ellaithy, Save the Children's director of Gulf partnerships, said:
"Ronaldo will be giving a message about the cause the event is
supporting, the Every One campaign that Save the Children has been
running globally since 2009.
"The objective of this campaign is to reach the UN's millennium
development goal number four, which is the reduction of child mortality
by two thirds by 2015."
