The official countdown to this year's carnival of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands, which is staged each year in the Seychelles by Seychelles and La Reunion, has begun.
Seychelles' capital - Victoria - was the host of the countdown's launch, which was kicked off at the International Conference Center (ICCS).
At the launch, tourism trade and business community members from the Seychelles, along with Barry Faure, the Seychelles Tourism Board's Chairman, and Alain St Ange, the board's CEO, said the ICCS event was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to the carnival.
French Ambassador Philippe Delacroix was present at the launch of the celebration.
People who are lucky enough to be taking a luxury holiday to the Seychelles at the beginning of March will be in for a treat.
Alain St Ange said at the ICCS: "On the 2nd to the 4th of March, Seychelles and La Reunion will stage an event that will bring visibility to our island."
"On March 2nd, when the Seychelles and La Reunion carnival will be declared open, and when Seychelles will witness the opening ceremony of this carnival, the world will be following the start of this unique event."
