Families planning a visit to Egypt will soon have the opportunity to explore the renovated Children Museum in Heliopolis.

With thousands of holidaymakers taking advantage of all-inclusive deals in the country, the museum provides children with a host of fun-filled learning experiences.

The Children Museum was opened in 1996 before closing several years ago for major improvements. The Cairo attraction will welcome new visitors from mid-September.

The revamp has benefited from millions of dollars' worth of contributions from several countries.

Telling the history of Egypt from ancient times to present, the museum boasts some outstanding displays, including impressive 3D models of the Nile and the burial chamber of the boy king Tutankhamun.
