Holidaymakers planning for an exciting, but thrifty, skiing break this winter should consider heading east.
According to a survey by Post Office Travel Money, trips to places like Slovenia and Bulgaria will help skiing enthusiasts save a great deal of money.
The study found that Bansko in Bulgaria offers the best value for money overall, with a typical six-day ski break in the town costing just £818. This cost also includes extras such as lift passes, ski school costs and food.
Kranjska Gora in Slovenia offers the second cheapest deal, where the same package costs £1,142.
The same six-day holiday can cost a massive £1,879, at Winter Park in Colorado, USA and £1,829 at Nendaz in Switzerland.
However, even the prices there have fallen by 31% when compared to last year.
Sarah Munro, head of Post Office Travel Money said: "Prices are more competitive than before in the bargain hunter's resort of Bansko in Bulgaria and Switzerland is working hard to combat the negative impact of the poor exchange rate."
