Richard Ashcroft is due to perform at a five-star music extravaganza in Dubai, which is expected to entertain thousands of travellers on luxury holidays in the country.
The former lead singer of the English band The Verve is among the big names to feature at Sandance Dubai 2011, due to be held on October 14 at Atlantis.
Ashcroft and his guitar will perform an acoustic set at what the organisers hope will be the biggest beach festival the emirate has ever seen.
Singer-songwriter Ashcroft was the frontman of The Verve since its inception in 1990. The band split up in 1999, only to regroup in 2007 and break up again two years later.
Ashcroft is credited with three popular solo albums.
Current breakthrough artist Elliot Gleave, aka Example, will also perform at the annual outdoor festival. The full line-up will be unveiled soon.
