The 2012 Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), which will be held between January 5 and February 5, could encourage an increasing number of lovers of shopping to take luxury holidays in the emirate during the period.
The 32-day long shopping and entertainment extravaganza, which is in its 17th year, has the marketing slogan 'Dubai at its Best' and is supported by Emirates Airline, according to the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE).
Tourists taking Dubai holidays next month can enjoy a wide range of activities at the DSF 2012, as well as have chances of winning prizes ranging from luxury cars and cash worth AED 100,000 (£17,459) each day of the event, to 19kg of gold.
The festival's other highlights include interactive shows, colourful kiosks, and a huge carnival with street performers and jugglers during weekends.
Ibrahim Saleh, festivals coordinator general and deputy CEO of DEPE, said: "More than 6,000 retail outlets and around 70 shopping malls will take part in the Dubai Shopping Festival 2012, offering a host of discounts and sale prices of up to 75% on a wide range of goods and services. More than 150 events will take place across the Emirate."
