Travellers who love to explore old architectures may be interested to know that a magnificent artefact has been discovered in a city in Egypt.

The 2,700-year-old stone gate found at Karnak Temple in Luxor is likely to see more tourists taking Egypt holidays this year.

According to a report by the country's ministry of antiquities, the gate once served as the entrance to the king's treasure room. It features pictures of the ruler participating in rituals with the god Amun Raa and goddess Maat.

Although the structure was buried under the ground for hundreds of years, it is still in a good condition.

Dominique Valbelle, a government official, said: "The discovery shows that the temple of Karnak still has many secrets to be uncovered and it will do for years to come."

Recently, archaeologists uncovered King Khufu's second solar boat at the Giza Plateau.
