Abu Dhabi's Al Bateen Executive Airport recorded an increase in commercial movement during the first six months of 2011, according to a report.

Statistics released by the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) showed a 12% year-on-year growth to more than 4,500 commercial movements over the January-June period.

Stephen Jones, general manager at Al Bateen Executive Airport, said: "There is no doubt that Al Bateen is the perfect tech stop location because of its ease of access, short turnarounds and top quality services, which make it a highly attractive and cost effective stopping point for long flights."

This indicates that more people will opt for luxury holidays to the Arab city this year.

The state-of-the-art facility is the region's only dedicated private jet airport. Its offerings include opulent executive lounges, full conference facilities, efficient turnarounds and spacious hangar parking.
