Kenya Security

Update: 21st October 2011

Although the recent incidents involving the murder and abduction of foreign nationals by Somali bandits have been in an area many miles away from the resorts Kuoni feature, customers may be concerned about the situation.

The Kenyan Government has now taken action to have a stronger military presence along the land border with Somalia.   Air and ground support is also being given to try to eradicate the area of bandits and suspected terrorists.  The Kenyan navy has patrol boats in the Lamu area to intercept any boats coming toward Kenya and they are co-operating with International forces in the Indian Ocean on counter piracy exercises.

Kuoni hope to reassure customers that although Kuoni resorts are not in an area under any threat, strong measures are being put in place to ensure the security of anyone visiting the Kenyan coast.
