Italy Strikes on Tuesday 6th September

Update: 05 September 2011

We have been made aware that there is a general public sector strike taking place in Italy on Tuesday 6 September 2011.  A number of services such as planes, trains and local transportation will be on strike for 8 hours, local activity will change from town to town.  Affected services include, but may not be limited to the following:

Trains and all supporting services: 09.00-17.00
Air transportation: 10:00 – 18:00.
Car hire, ferries and motorway tolls.

We are working with our ground agents to rebook trains and flights affected and are contacting clients who are due to depart tomorrow if their flight has been cancelled to rebook everyone on the next available flight.  If we are unable to rebook clients on a flight departing the UK within 12 hours we will offer a cancellation with a full refund if a suitable alternative cannot be found.

Any clients in resort are being contacted by our local agents to advise them of their new train or flight details.  If we are unable to rebook flights to return home the same day we will extend clients accommodation on the same board basis but this will not necessarily be at the same hotel.

The Kuoni Operations team along with Kuoni’s local agents, will continue to monitor the situation and will take all necessary action to assist our clients.
