Esna Lock in Egypt is currently closed due to strike action.
The staff operating the Lock are currently striking, resulting in the closure of the main bridge and consequently the closure of the lock itself.
This is preventing Nile cruises from passing through to their next destination.
This appears to be a contractual dispute and the Authorities are in discussion with them to try to resume working while this is resolved.
Kuoni’s Operations department are working closely with their ground handlers, Traveline and the cruise ship companies to ensure that customers in resort have the least disruption possible.
