Following on from the violent clashes between rival football fans in Port Said on Wednesday, which resulted in many fatalities, protests have been taking place in Cairo. Friday after prayers is a traditional time for people to gather and marches have been called for this afternoon which will result in them congregating in Tahrir Square which is where the Egyptian Museum is located. The main demonstrations are in downtown Cairo in areas where tourists would not normally go.
