Cairo Demonstrations

Update: 10 October 2011

The Foreign Office has updated their travel advice to Egypt to mention the demonstrations in the Mispero area of downtown Cairo, which happened over the weekend.  They have advised everyone to avoid this area and also around Tahir Square, which has been the centre of many disturbances in the past.  For more information please visit: www.fco.gov.uk

The army have the situation under control and they have imposed a curfew between 02.00-07.00 am in the Tahir Square area.  There are currently no demonstrations and the traffic is operating as normal.  Excursions to the Egyptian Museum are also going ahead as planned.
