A specialist will fillet and dice fish so you're ready to make a Peruvian delicacy called 'ceviche' during an interactive cooking class at one of Lima's best restaurants. Next it's on to a 'pisco' tavern and cellar to learn about Peruvian drinks, where you'll create a pisco sour and other cocktails. Enjoy a lunch buffet of traditional Peruvian cuisine at a local restaurant and end your unforgettable day with a coffee or coca tea - made from the sacred herb of the Incas.

The half-day tour is a fascinating exploration of Cuzco, the magical capital of the Incas. Visit the Plaza Regocijo, the Plaza de Armas, the cathedral and the Santo Domingo convent monastery, built over the Koricancha temple which was dedicated to the worship of the sun. Roam around the old town with its very narrow streets and take a drive into the countryside to visit some remarkable Inca ruins. They include Sacsayhuaman, the temple and amphitheatre of Kenka and the Red Fortress of Puca Pucara.

You'll visit San Martin Plaza, the Palace of Justice, Lima Cathedral, Government Palace and San Francisco Convent - each impressive building illuminated in the darkness. The Hiram Bingham is the most luxurious train journey between Cuzco and Machu Picchu and run by Orient Express. On board this classic and elegant train, you'll enjoy a delicious brunch while gazing out at incredible views. Unravel the mystery of the Nazca Lines on this full day experience from Lima. These simple lines and complex figures seem to be etched into the earth's surface and aliens, gods and giants have been rumoured as the creators. It's also unknown how long they took to craft and how they were measured to such perfection. The best way to appreciate these images is from above in a light aircraft from Ica. Lunch and return transfers by coach are included.

While in Paracas, take an early morning tour of the Paracas peninsula, the most important wildlife hotspot on the Peruvian coast. Hop in a motorboat and cruise to the Ballestas Islands in the Paracas National Reserve and keep watch for sealions, pelicans, penguins and condors. While on board the boat, spot the famous Candelabro, a huge hillside drawing which is believed to be linked to the Nazca Lines.
