Mexico boasts some of Latin America’s richest colonial architecture - from Mexico City's magnificent Zocalo and cathedral to Taxco's narrow cobblestone streets and the grandeur of the imposing archeological site of Teotihuacan. This short tour explores the region's best archaeological sights and highlights.

DAY 1 - LONDON TO MEXICO CITY
Depart from Heathrow with British Airways, arriving in Mexico City early evening. Transfer to the NH Centro Historico for a three-night stay and to explore this magnificent city.

DAY 2 - MEXICO CITY
A full day tour takes you beyond Mexico City's sprawling suburbs to the mighty pyramids of Teotihuacan (approx. 60 miles). This enormous archaeological site was once the pre-Columbian Americas' largest city. A highlight is the climb to the summits of the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon. On return to Mexico City visit the Shrine of Guadalupe, Mexico's largest Catholic monument.

The following day explore the city's major sites, including a guided visit to the famous Museum of Anthropology; the historical Zocalo and cathedral; the National Palace and its famous Diego Rivera murals; and the Frida Kahlo Museum of La Casa Azul.

DAY 4 - MEXICO CITY TO PUEBLA
Depart Mexico City in the morning and drive to archaeological site Cholula, home to the ruins of the Americas' largest pyramid. Continue to Puebla, recognised by UNESCO for its fabulous colonial architecture (approx. 81 miles). Visit the beautiful Baroque cathedral and colourful main square. Stay overnight at San Leonardo Hotel.

DAY 5 - PUEBLA TO TAXCO
After breakfast continue on to the ‘City of Eternal Spring’, Cuernavaca, known for its rich cultural heritage and the colonial Cortez Palace, with a stunning city backdrop of the Sierra Madre Mountains.

Continue to Taxco for an overnight stay at Posada de la Mision. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city by foot in the afternoon, seeing colonial fountains, narrow streets and the exquisite Santa Prisca Church (approx. 155 miles).

DAY 6 - TAXCO TO LONDON
A morning to explore independently before continuing to Tequesquitengo for lunch at a traditional hacienda. Return to Mexico City (115 miles) for your return flight with British Airways to Heathrow, arriving the following morning.

EXTENSION

ACAPULCO
Finish your cultural exploration of Mexico with a few days relaxing beside the cliffs, sands and Pacific rollers of Mexico's most iconic beach resort.

DAY 6 - TAXCO TO ACAPULCO
Transfer to the Pacific Coast and the entertaining party town of Acapulco (approx. 170 miles) to rest at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess for four nights.

DAY 7 - ACAPULCO
Over the next few days you're free to relax in the sumptuous grounds of your resort. Enjoy the buzz of Acapulco and be sure to witness the daring La Quebrada Cliff Divers.

DAY 10 - ACAPULCO TO LONDON
Transfer to Acapulco airport for your AeroMexico flight to Mexico City and onwards with British Airways to Heathrow, arriving the following morning.
