•   Harbour tours and deep-sea fishing charters are available. Despite the city’s boom over the past 15 years, the historic Waterfront Area, comprising important 18th- and 19th-Century buildings, has been kept intact

•   Peggys Cove is one of the busiest tourist attractions in Nova Scotia and is a prime attraction on the Lighthouse Trail scenic drive. The community's famous lighthouse marks the eastern entrance of St Margarets Bay and is officially known as the Peggys Point Lighthouse.

•   Take the Cabot Trail through Nova Scotia and drive through Baddeck, the home of the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site through to Cape Breton, the picturesque fishing village of Belle Cote to Cape North, the most northern point of the trail.

Most goods are available slightly cheaper than the cost at home. Canadian arts and crafts fashioned from pewter, wood, silver and pottery (as well as Native Canadian art like soapstone-carvings, totem poles and weavings) are best found in the regions where they are produced.

Kids Activities

The excellent beginners areas, convenient hotel locations and variety of activities make Tremblant perfect for families. Children's four day ski and board school includes boxed lunch and group picture for 5-12 year olds.

Spas, massage, Aquaclub. Outdoor activities include husky dog sledding, horseriding, ice climbing, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, tubing and zip trekking.

Entertainment

Tremblant provides a wide choice of bars, cafés and restaurants, mainly at Place St Bernard or Vieux Tremblant. Venues worth a visit include Le Petit Caribou and Microbrasserie La Diable.

Tipping

Many Canadians in the service industry rely on tips to supplement their income. Tips or tax are not usually automatically added to a bill in Canada, but you should always check. Taxi drivers, hairdressers and waiters are generally given 10-15%. Bellhops, porters and doormen are generally paid Can$1 per item of luggage.
