Is in three star hotels but in remote areas such as National Parks or small towns this standard may not exist and accommodation may be more simple and rustic. Hotels will be confirmed with final itineraries.

TRAVEL TIPS
Ferry crossings on Day 8 and Day 10 are not included. Crossings take approx. 1¼ hours. Prebooking with Northumberland ferries (www.peiferry.com) is highly recommended especially during the summer months and school holidays.

DAY 1 - HALIFAX
Pick up your rental car at Halifax airport and make your way to your hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 2 - HALIFAX TO WHITE POINT
This morning, enjoy a fascinating tour of the city of Halifax, taking in highlights such as St Paul's Church and the Halifax Citadel National Historic Park. Later, embark on your Nova Scotia self-drive adventure, heading out along the Lighthouse Route to the fishing community of Peggy's Cove, famous for its lighthouse, before continuing on to attractive White Point on Nova Scotia’s southwest coast for an overnight stay (approx. 95 miles).

DAY 3 - WHITE POINT TO DIGBY
Traverse Nova Scotia from east coast to west coast, perhaps taking a side trip to idyllic Kejimkujik National Park (admission included with Activity Package option), before continuing on to the romantic seaport town of Digby for a two night stay. Explore this picture-postcard fishing port with its bustling waterfront and be sure to enjoy some fresh local cuisine in the restaurants and cafés dotted around the harbour (approx. 103 miles).

DAY 5 - DIGBY TO WOLFVILLE
Drive along the northern shore, admiring the Bay of Fundy - world famous for its extreme tides - to the university town of Wolfville (approx. 87 miles).

DAY 6 - WOLFVILLE TO TRURO/MILLBROOK
Following the coastal route for a more scenic journey, continue along the shores of the Bay of Fundy to the transport hub of Truro for an overnight stay (approx. 100 miles).

DAY 7 - TRURO/MILLBROOK TO ST MARTINS
Your journey today takes you north into New Brunswick and on to salmon fishing country and The Fundy Trail’s Hearst Lodge, which was built as a private fishing retreat by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst, real-life inspiration for Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane (approx. 190 miles).

DAY 8 - ST MARTINS TO SHEDIAC
Return north through New Brunswick to the shores of Northumberland Strait and the quaint village of Shediac, self-styled ‘Lobster Capital of the World’, for an overnight stay (approx. 100 miles).

DAY 9 - SHEDIAC TO SUMMERSIDE
Today’s journey takes you across the spectacular eight mile expanse of Confederation Bridge across the Northumberland Strait to Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province. Overnight in the seaside town of Summerside (approx. 70 miles).

DAY 10 - SUMMERSIDE TO CHARLOTTETOWN
Spend today exploring sedate Prince Edward Island, ‘The Garden of the Gulf’ with its lush agricultural landscape and picturesque coastal scenery. Overnight tonight in Charlottestown the island’s capital and largest city, (approx. 40 miles).

DAY 11 - CHARLOTTETOWN TO BADDECK
Travel to Wood Island for the ferry journey (not included) to the mainland and Nova Scotia, before continuing on to Baddeck on the shore of Bras d’Or Lake of Cape Breton Island for an overnight stay (approx. 190 miles).

DAY 12 - BADDECK TO SYDNEY
Take time to explore the shores of Bras d’Or Lake and perhaps take an excursion to the stunning landscape of Cape Breton National Park, finishing your day in Sydney for an overnight stay (approx. 50 miles).

DAY 13 SYDNEY TO LISCOMBE MILLS
Following the eastern shore of Bras d’Or Lake, your journey heads south, back across the causeway to mainland Nova Scotia, continuing then to the province’s east coast and the small fishing hamlet of Liscombe for an overnight stay (approx. 165 miles).

DAY 14 - LISCOMBE MILLS TO HALIFAX
You final journey follows the scenic Marine Drive, shadowing the shores and inlets of the Atlantic coast, back into Halifax where your tour finishes (approx. 110 miles).
