The mountain walking is perfect through verdant meadows to some fabulous vantage points. If you prefer to get a head start, a number of cable cars and chair lifts take you up the mountain peaks. Travel in the world’s highest underground funicular the ‘Metro Alpine’ from this scenic village, up to breathtaking mountain peaks then descend back down through clearly marked paths to Saas Fee.

A number of cosy bars and restaurants complete the perfect setting. A mild climate and a touch of the south awaits you in Saas-Fee, while the world’s large ice grotto provides cool pleasure at 11,000 feet.

Kids Activities

Awarded the quality-seal title of ‘Families Welcome’ by the Swiss tourist board, Saas Fee offers everything and anything that a family might wish for from a snow location. There are lots of flat and sunny slopes all over the region with the Beginner – Freestyle Park with various snow toys, rails and rollers and the Kids Funpark both located by the village lifts. The Eskimo Ski School offers Ski youngster (from 8 years) and ski and board minis (4-7 years) group lessons. Prices available on request and prebooking is recommended.

Sledging, cross-country skiing, walking, snowshoe hiking, snow tubing, bob sleigh, indoor tennis, sports centre with pool and ice rink. The tourist board have details of a host of organised activities to fill your week, from night sledding to husky rides.

Surprisingly bustling with several superb snow bars awaiting your return from the piste plus and an array of restaurants, where you can sample delicious Swiss specialities and international cuisine. Popular bars include Popcorn, the Black Bull Bar and the Fee-Iglu-Bar, many with dancing until the early hours of the morning.

Tipping

Not expected as hotel restaurants are legally obliged to include a service charge of around 15% on bills. Even taxis usually have an added charge.
