Take a ride on Switzerland's famous train

DAY 1 - LONDON TO ST MORITZ
Swiss International Air Lines flight to Zürich, and then journey (approx. 4 hours) by rail on the beautiful route to the world famous resort of St Moritz at 5,978 feet. Stay in St Moritz at either the three star Hotel Hauser in a Standard room or at the four star
Monopol in a Standard room for three nights.


DAY 2 - ST MORITZ
Two days here to explore, perhaps go up to the spectacular Corvatsch glacier, visit the Swiss National Park or take the Bernina Express to Italy for the day. The Monopol is a 'Mountain Railway inclusive' hotel which entitles visitors to unlimited use of all buses, mountain railways, cable cars and gondolas throughout Engadine/St Moritz which gives you the freedom to explore the surrounding mountains. Other exciting activities to enjoy in St Moritz include Nordic walking, whitewater rafting and sailing.


DAY 4 - ST MORITZ TO ZERMATT
Today is the highlight of your trip, the famous Glacier Express – the slowest express train in the world, from St Moritz to the Alpine village of Zermatt (approx. 8 hours) with lunch on board (included). This must surely be one of the world's most spectacular train journeys – crossing 291 bridges and 91 tunnels, through the stunning scenery of the Upper Rhine, known as the ‘Swiss Grand Canyon’ and over the 6,700 feet Oberalp Pass. On arrival in Zermatt transfer to either the three star Alpenroyal in a Superior room or the four and a half star
Park Hotel Beau Site in a Standard hillside room for three nights.


DAY 5 - ZERMATT
Two days to explore one of the world's most popular winter and summer mountain resorts at the foot of the awe-inspiring Matterhorn. Under the imposing mass of the Matterhorn take an optional trip on the Gornergrat cog-railway up to 10,000 feet or take Europe's highest cable car ride to Klein Matterhorn at 12,530 feet, to enjoy the most spectacular views. For an unforgettable experience, prebook a scenic helicopter flight and soar over glaciers up to the Matterhorn for a close encounter with this iconic mountain.


DAY 7 - ZERMATT TO MONTREUX
Another imposing train journey (approx. 3 hours), along the Rhône Valley to the Swiss Riviera resort of Montreux on sparkling Lake Geneva. A two night stay at either the three star Hotel Helvétie in a Standard room or the four and a half star
Eden Palace Au Lac, situated right on the lakefront, in a Cityview room.


DAY 8 - MONTREUX
Explore the cosmopolitan resort of Montreux. Lake Geneva is the largest lake in Switzerland and a trip on one of the old paddle steamers is a ‘must’. The Chocolate Train is a trip not to be missed during your stay in Montreux. Travel from Montreux to the picturesque village of Gruyère and the nearby town of Broc where you visit the Cailler-Nestlé chocolate factory (every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday in June, September and October, and Monday to Friday in July and August.)


DAY 9 - MONTREUX TO LONDON
Travel approx. 1 hour to Geneva airport for your Swiss International Air Lines flight to Heathrow.
