Facilities

The hotel’s sunny verandah and lounge overlook the main Höheweg promenade, and there is a relaxing reading room and attractive Victorian style bar. The elegant restaurant serves set menu four-course dinners. There is also a whirlpool (extra cost), steamroom and sauna to revitalise after a long day of sightseeing.

Sports

Interlaken is an ideal base, being just one hour from your favourite ski resorts by train. 220kms of winter-hiking trails are kept prepared through the Jungfrau region for your walking pleasure plus sledging, cross-country skiing in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, snow-tubing, zorbing and horseriding. A must is a tandem flight over the resort. Beatenberg-Niederhorn is a superb ski region close to Interlaken which has five runs graded from easy to moderately difficult plus winter hiking trails for an alternative to the Jungfrau region. The Jungfrau Activ pass is ideal for non-skiers looking to explore the mountains and experience the best of the region. Please enquire for prices and details.

Excursions

A must from Interlaken is the journey to the Jungfraujoch, the Top of Europe, with a visit to the incredible ice palace and Schilthorn-Piz Gloria - an impressive revolving restaurant with the most spectacular 360º panorama in the Alps. Perhaps take an exciting helicopter trip from Lauterbrunnen over the Alps and view the awesome Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. There is no better way to see the mountains than by helicopter, an adventure you will never forget. 25 minute flight £166 per person (minimum 4 people).
