DAY 1 - LONDON TO SORRENTO Fly British Airways from Gatwick to Naples and travel to Sorrento via private transfer (approx. 1 hour). Spend four nights at the magnificent Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria. Meander through the cobbled lanes, soak in the jovial atmosphere of the south and visit one of the town's most famous landmarks, the Duomo Cathedral, which boasts historic frescoes and paintings. Further afield explore ancient Pompeii, view Mount Vesuvius or marvel at the pretty town of Positano where colourful houses cling precariously to the steep hill.
DAY 5 - SORRENTO TO CAPRI Step onboard the ferry and leave the mainland behind as you glide towards the fashionable island of Capri, once a favourite destination of Roman emperors (approx. 30 minutes). Take a trip out to the truly magical Blue Grotto, with its shimmering silver light and where the water shines the most incredibly intense blue or visit the grand ruins of Villa Jovis, the palace built by Emperor Tiberius and the fascinating Cave of Tiberius. pend three nights at Caesar Augustus which is perched high above the Tyrrhenian Sea.
DAY 8 - CAPRI TO LONDONTravel via ferry back to Sorrento and then transfer by road to Naples airport before flying British Airways to Gatwick.NB - This is a suggested itinerary and no sightseeing is included. Don't forget that we can tailor make your holiday for you.
