Recent earthquake in neighbouring Haiti
Haiti is not a typical holiday destination.  Despite the fact of being a neighbouring country, the Dominican Republic and especially its tourist areas were spared any damages. The Dominican Republic is not affected by the consequences of the Haitian earthquake, thus there is no need to cancel planned holidays there.

Aid is urgently needed
We are all very much concerned and touched by the events in Haiti. If you are interested in helping the disaster’s victims, you are invited to support UNICEF.  Unicef provides essential supplies for medical treatment and supports the functioning of the water supply. Since the population density is high and adequate access to safe water was guaranteed to only half of the Haitian people even before the earthquake, there is an increased risk of life-threatening diseases and epidemics.  Expert teams set up sheltered zones for children. Nearly 50% of the Haitians are under 18 years of age. Therefore, it is very important to make sure that the children’s special needs for shelter and protection are met.

Donations can be made to UNICEF. Anyone can help!
