DAY 1
Departing from Brisbane’s Roma Street station at 9am (Sunday) or lunchtime (Tuesday and Thursday), The Sunlander forges north into the hinterland, travelling inland, but shadowing the coast all the way. The journey crosses rich farmlands and rolling country and passes through quaint Queensland towns. And as night draws in, relax and be rocked to sleep as the train gently glides across the Tropic of Capricorn.

DAY 2
With sunrise, a new day is greeted by a new tropical landscape: green and lush and hinting at adventures to come. A full day on board carries you on to the north and the tropical city of Cairns, your gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and where you arrive at 4.15pm (Monday) or 7.15pm (Wednesday and Friday).

NB - This journey is also available in reverse.

Passengers for the Whitsunday Islands leave the train at Proserpine for coach connections to Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour.
