Guide

This is a shared group tour, escorted by a professional local tour guide from Day 2 on departure from Singapore to Day 11 on return to Singapore. The Penang extensions is not escorted but assistance is provided by our local representative.

•  Breakfast is included on Day 3 to Day 11 inclusive
•  Lunch is included on Day 2 to Day 11 inclusive.

•  Three and four star accommodation is used throughout.

•  In the Cameron Highlands the climate can be much cooler so a sweater is advisable.
•  During the festivals of Hari Raya and Chinese New Year, the Singapore to Malaysia train ride will be replaced by coach. Applicable dates available on request.
•  On Day 3 of the tour a Heritage charge of MYR 2.00 per room per night is to be paid directly to the Majestic Malacca hotel on check in.

A perfect introduction to Malaysia

DAY 1 - SINGAPORE
Arrive in Singapore and transfer to a Superior room at the
Furama City Centre for one night.

DAY 2 - SINGAPORE TO MALACCA

Journey north by train (coach replacement during Hari Raya and Chinese New Year) across the near mile-long causeway, which connects Singapore to the Malaysian mainland where you will pass through miles of lush rubber and palm oil plantations. From Kluang, continue by coach to Malacca in time for lunch and a tour of this quaint old port steeped in colourful history on foot, visiting St Paul's, Porta de Santiago and Jonkers Street. Overnight in Malacca (approx. 162 miles).

DAY 3 - MALACCA TO KUALA LUMPUR
Drive inland for two nights in
Kuala Lumpur, touring the main sights including the National Palace, National Mosque, National Monument and passing by the iconic Petronas Twin Towers (approx. 97 miles).

DAY 4 - KUALA LUMPUR
Explore the Batu Caves, which are reached by 272 steps, before then gaining an insight into the production of some of Malaysia's artisanal handicrafts.

DAY 5 - KUALA LUMPUR TO CAMERON HIGHLANDS
Drive north to the cooler elevations of the beautiful Cameron Highlands, the centre of Malaysia's tea production and 4,000-6,000 feet above sea level. On the way up, stop at a look-out point to view a hut occupied by Orang Alsi (Malaysian aboriginals) that live deep in the forest and then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Enjoy views of the tea plantation from a look-out point before an overnight in the stunning Cameron Highlands (approx. 159 miles).

DAY 6 - CAMERON HIGHLANDS TO PENANG
Enjoy the cool morning air of the Cameron Highlands then continue to downhill to the rich city of Ipoh, the historic home of tin mining. En route you will visit Kellies Castle with its historic Scottish roots and the Cave Temples in Ipoh before lunch at a local restaurant. Stop at the magnificent gold-domed Ubudiah Mosque and the Palace of the Sultan of Perak. Cross the impressive Penang Bridge to
Penang for two nights (approx. 194 miles).

DAY 7 - PENANG
Today enjoy a tour of famous Penang, the oldest British settlement in Malaysia and the 'Pearl of the Orient'. Visit the Penang Snake Temple and explore the sights of Georgetown including the Khoo Kongsi clan house and historic Fort Cornwallis. The remainder of the day is free to relax on the beach. There is an opportunity to extend your stay in Penang and spend an extra seven nights on the beach before continuing to Pangkor the following week.


DAY 8 - PENANG TO PANGKOR

Travel south by road passing rice fields, stopping at Taiping to visit the lush Lake Gardens and the Taiping War Cemetery. Take the ferry (approx. 30 minutes) to the tropical shores of Pangkor Island for the next two nights. Enjoy time at leisure to relax on the beach, enjoy some watersports or perhaps explore the island's tropical interior (approx. 153 miles).

DAY 10 - PENANG TO PORT DICKSON
Depart from Pangkor Island by ferry to the mainland and travel south to the popular weekend resort town of Port Dickson for a one night stay (approx. 209 miles).

DAY 11 - PORT DICKSON TO SINGAPORE
Drive south this morning to Singapore, arriving early evening and return to a Superior room at the Furama City Centre hotel for two nights (approx. 193 miles). The next day is free to explore Singapore at your leisure.

DAY 13 - DEPART
Transfer to the airport in time for your onward flight. Alternatively you may wish to extend to an oriental beach for relaxation. Please contact us for further details.
