Guide

The Borneo Adventure is escorted by a professional, local guide from arrival in Kuching on Day 4 to departure from Kota Kinablu on Day 11. Extensions are not escorted but assistance is provided in each destination by our local representative.

MEAL PLAN
•   Prices include breakfast on Days 5 to 8, lunch on Days 5 and 6 and dinner on Day 5.
•   No other meals are included.

•   Meal supplements are available on request.

ACCOMMODATION
•   A variety of accommodation is used to incorporate the best locations and experiences; this does involve moving between accommodation ranging from three to five star.
•   Four star accommodation in Singapore, Kuching, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi and Hong Kong; three star at Lemanak River and in Damai; and five star in Kota Kinabalu.

DAY 1 - SINGAPORE
On arrival in Singapore transfer to the four star Traders Hotel for three nights in a Superior Room. During your stay experience the fantastic shopping, night markets, cuisine, entertainment and wonderful mix of Asian cultures that Singapore offers in abundance. You may wish to prebook one of our excursions (please call for details).

DAY 4 - SINGAPORE TO KUCHING
Fly to the beautiful city of Kuching in the East Malaysian state of Sarawak on the island of Borneo, legendary land of the Hornbill and Headhunter. Transfer to the Hilton Kuching for one night.

DAY 5 - KUCHING TO BATANG AI
This morning enjoy a highlight of the trip, visiting the Semongok Rehabilitation Centre, a welcome home for semi-wild orangutans rescued from captivity. The orangutans roam freely through the forest, but often return to the centre for feeding. Semongok also runs a successful breeding programme, thus providing an excellent opportunity to see orangutan mothers with their infant offspring. After, travel through paddy fields, rubber plantations, pepper and oil plantations and tiny local villages to visit the Serian farmer's market and stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Finally, travel by shuttle boat to the Hilton Batang Ai resort, designed in the style of a traditional longhouse but with modern comforts.

DAY 6 - LEMANAK RIVER TO DAMAI
Rise early this morning and have breakfast in the longhouse before returning down the river and then by road to Lemanak to embark on a longboat ride up the Lemanak River to a traditional longhouse for a tour, cultural performance and blowpipe demonstration. Return to Kuching before continuing on to the Damai Beach Resort, overlooking the South China Sea. Dramatically set on a beautiful sandy bay with Mount Santubong providing a majestic backdrop, the hotel has excellent bars, restaurants, sports and watersports facilities and offers a superb beachfront location, golf, jungle trips and visits to a Cultural Village.
NB → 2012 departures enjoy the Lemanak River and longhouse tour on day 5.

DAY 8 - DAMAI TO KOTA KINABALU
Today fly to Kota Kinabalu in the state of Sabah, Borneo and transfer to the beautiful five star Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort for a three night stay in a Superior rainforest Room.

DAY 9 - KOTA KINABALU
During your stay at Rasa Ria enjoy this excellent beachfront hotel and sample some of the many excursions. There is an orangutan sanctuary adjoining the hotel, which is a wonderful spot to watch the feeding of these beautiful animals up close. As one of our most popular Malaysian Beach resorts, you may choose to extend your stay here for a few extra days of indulgence and relaxation (please call for details).

DAY 11 - LOTA KINABALU TO KUALA LUMPUR
Fly to the capital Kuala Lumpur and transfer to the Melia Kuala Lumpur for two nights in a Standard Room and your opportunity to explore. Alternatively, fly to Penang or Langkawi for some relaxation on the beach or to the vibrant city of Hong Kong.
NB → 2012 departures stay at the Dorsett Regency.

DAY 13 - DEPART KUALA LUMPUR
Transfer to the airport in time for your homeward journey. Alternatively, why not extend your holiday with one of our choice of extensions.

Fly Malaysia Airlines from Kota Kinabalu via Kuala Lumpur to Heathrow, arriving later the same day.

PENANG OR LANGKAWI
DAY 12 - KOTA KINABALU TO PENANG OR LANGKAWI

Fly Malaysia Airlines to Penang and stay in a Superior room at the Shangri-La managed Golden Sands Resort, or fly Malaysia Airlines to Langkawi and stay in a Superior room at Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa for four nights.
DAY 16 - PENANG OR LANGKAWI TO LONDON
Fly Malaysia Airlines from Penang or Langkawi via Kuala Lumpur to Heathrow, arriving later the same day.

BORNEO ADVENTURE & HONG KONG
DAY 12 - KOYA KINABALU TO HONG KONG
Fly Malaysia Airlines from Kota Kinabalu to Hong Kong and stay in a Superior park and harbourview room at the Park Lane hotel for three nights to explore the highlights of Hong Kong.
DAY 15 - HONG KONG TO LONDON
Fly Cathay Pacific to Heathrow, arriving the following day.
