Destination introduction
Covering 106 square miles, Ranthambore National Park is one of North India's largest national parks and perhaps also one of the most iconic. The park is rich in bio-diversity and is one of the best places in the world to view tigers in the wild. This former hunting ground of Jaipur's maharajas has been under the protection of Project Tiger since the early 1970s and it attracts nature-lovers from around the world eager to spot the endangered and mighty Bengal tigers.
The landscape transforms from dry plains to grasslands and dense forests dotted with waterholes. A wealth of wildlife inhabit the park including the leopard, hyena, jackal, sloth bear, crocodile and spotted deer as well as countless birds.
