DAY 1 - LONDON TO DELHI
Fly Jet Airways from Heathrow to Delhi, arriving the next day, and transfer to the Suryaa New Delhi for two nights. India's second largest city has around 16 million inhabitants. Explore this buzzing metropolis at your own pace. See historic Old Delhi with its narrow lanes, spice market and magnificent mosque; and discover New Delhi's wide avenues and imposing government buildings.

DAY 4 - DELHI TO SHIMLA
Drive to Shimla for three nights at the Radisson Shimla. Perhaps climb to the highest peak of this colonial hill station and visit Jakhu Hill Temple, where mischievous monkeys will eat from your hand. Visit the Mall's shops and restaurants and see the gothic Christ Church with its beautiful stained glass windows and fresco designed by Rudyard Kipling's father.

DAY 7 - CHANDIGARH
Continue to pretty Chandigarh for an overnight stay at the Taj Chandigarh (approx. 4 hours). Post-independent India's first modern city, Chandigarh was planned in the model of a man, with a shopping hub as the heart, greenery and the Rose Garden as the lungs and sprawling residential areas as the torso. Explore at your leisure.

DAY 8 - CHANDIGARH TO AMRITSAR
Drive to Amritsar for two nights at the Ista. Amritsar is a sacred destination steeped in fascinating religious rituals. While here you could visit the famous Golden Temple and ltake part in intriguing Guru Ka Langar, where all visitors are fed a meal of lentil curry and bread to symbolise the Sikhs' belief in a caste-free, egalitarian society.

DAY 10 - AMRITSAR TO LONDON
Fly Jet Airways from Amritsar to Heathrow via Delhi.
