TRAVEL TIPS • Bring comfortable footwear and light, durable clothing. During the visit to the Royal Palace and Angkor Wat shoulders and legs must be covered. Long sleeve shirts and tousers/skirts are required. Asian Trails will assist guests who are wearing clothing that does not conform to the dress code. • Visitors must also observe the rules for photography and filming , as well as rules of conduct in the temples.NB • The itinerary on this tour is subject to change depending on road and weather conditions. From February to July due to the low level of water, it may not be possible to visit Tonle Sap. An alternative itinerary will be substituted. • Children under the age of 16 are not permitted on this tour. • The tourist infrastructure in Cambodia is not as developed as in other Far East destinations. • Transport may be subject to delay or change and sometimes roads may be bumpy.

DAY 1 - LONDON TO PHNOM PENH Overnight Thai Airways flight from Heathrow via Bangkok to Phnom Penh, arriving the following morning. DAY 2 - PHNOM PENH Upon arrival in Phnom Penh, transfer to the Sunway Hotel for your one night stay in the Cambodian capital. The rest of the morning is free to relax before embarking this afternoon on an interesting cyclo tour of the city, taking in Wat Phnom, the Silver Pagoda and the Royal Palace.
DAY 3 - PHNOM PENH TO SIEM REAP
After breakfast journey by road to Siem Reap (approx. seven hours). Along the way visit Santuk Silk Farm to discover the intricacies of the silk weaving process. Stop for lunch at Kampong Thom before then visiting one of the area's historic bridges. The final stretch of the journey then takes you on to Siem Reap where you will check into the Tara Angkor hotel for a four night stay.
DAY 4 - SIEM REAP Begin your archaeological exploration of this UNESCO World Heritage Site with a visit to the spectacular Angkor National Museum before moving on to the Rolous Group of ninth century temples. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the iconic Ta Prohm temple, made famous by its appearance in the Tomb Raider movie, before then also visiting the Preah Khan and Neak Pean temples.
DAY 5 - SIEM REAP
An early rise today will be richly rewarded with a memorable sunrise over the iconic spires of Angor Wat. Return to the hotel for breakfast before taking a battery car for a full day of temple viewing. Discover the great Angkor Wat temple plus the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the incredible ruins of the Bayon, the Elephants Terrace and many more. This evening you can choose to partake in an optional Angkor Gondola excursion on the moat of the Angkor Thom complex.
DAY 6 - SIEM REAP
This morning, first visit the Banteay Srei temple - a jewel of Khmer architecture – before then heading to a local primary school to meet and watch the young students learning about cultural traditions. After lunch visit the artisan workshops of Les Senteurs d’Angkor and Artisans d'Angkor before going to a local market for an ideal souvenir hunting opportunity.
DAY 7 - SIEM REAP TO BATTAMBANG After breakfast, a private wooden boat will transfer you along the Tonle Sap Great Lake and the Sangker River to Battambang (approx. seven hours or ten hours during dry season). The cruise will be a fantastic opportunity to witness daily life on this important waterway as well as the area's attractive landscape. Check into the Bambu Hotel for an overnight stay. An optional activity this evening is a visit to the Phare Ponleu Selpak circus school which includes a performance by the students, many of whom are from underprivileged backgrounds.
DAY 8 - BATTAMBANG TO PHNOM PENH
This morning travel the local way, by Bamboo train. This basic mode of transport is made up of a bamboo platform on four wheels activated by a small motor. This unusual but exhilarating and authentic experience takes you through the beautiful Cambodian countryside to the village of Phnom Samprov and the striking Phnom Sampeau Mountain. After lunch, you will return to Phnom Penh by road (approx. six hours) for a final overnight stay at the Sunway Hotel.
DAY 9 - PHNOM PENH TO LONDON After breakfast, enjoy a visit to the National Museum before then transferring to the airport for your onward flight with Thai Airways via Bangkok to Heathrow. Alternatively, extend your trip with a beach break to Sihanoukville or to any of our featured Thailand beach resorts.

DAY 9 - PHNOM PENH TO HUA HIN Transfer (approx. 3 hours) from Bangkok for three or more nights at the Dusit Thani in a Superior room.
DAY 12 - HUA HIN TO LONDON Return to Bangkok for your Thai Airways flight to the UK, arriving the next day.

Stay in Cambodia on the white sand beaches of Sihanoukville.
DAY 9 - PHNOM PENH TO SIHANOUKVILLE Transfer (approx. 3-4 hours) to the beaches of Sihanoukville for three nights or more at the Sokha Beach Resort in an Ocean wing superior room.
DAY 12 - SIHANOUKVILLE TO LONDON Return to Phnom Penh for your Bangkok Airways evening flight to Bangkok and Thai Airways to Heathrow.
