Explore Tanzania's National Parks:

Serengeti
Known locally as 'Siringitu' - the place where the land runs on forever - Tanzania's oldest park was created to preserve the path of the world’s largest migration circuit. Today, it is ultimate safari country, hugely popular and its rolling plains are home to a spectacular array of wildlife including big cats, elephants and of course the thundering herds of wildebeest during the great migration.

Ngorongoro Crater
The extraordinary and awe-inspiring volcanic landscape of Ngorongoro is rich and fertile - and home to the densest concentration of wildlife in Africa. From its rim, it drops 600m to the crater floor, where wildlife including black rhino, hippo, Thomson's gazelle and a large lion population reside amongst the grasslands, forests, swamps and soda lake.

Tarangire
Dense bushland with ancient Baobab trees, unspoilt Tarangire is dominated by the impressive valley of the Tarangire river. This wide open park experiences distinct seasons, with its dry season (July to November) witnessing a large number of diverse animals - including elephant, zebra and buffalo - attracted to the reducing river.

Lake Manyara
At the base of the Rift Valley escarpment, this small yet richly populated scenic park is home to incredible tree climbing lions, herds of elephant, a variety of birdlife and pods of wallowing hippo.

Selous
Africa's largest game reserve, Selous offers a true wilderness experience in the south of the country, away from the crowds. Home to over half of Tanzania's elephant population, game drives, bush walks and boating safaris take place amongst forest, bushland and by the mighty Rufiji river, providing varied and rewarding game experiences - ideal for repeat visitors to Tanzania.

Ruaha
Remote and untamed, Ruaha is a birdwatcher's paradise with over 500 species present amongst its vast semi-arid bush landscape. Large numbers of elephant, antelope and buffalo also exist here alongside lion, cheetah and hyena.
