Loldia House

Beautiful colonial style bush retreat

Experience the life of Kenya’s early colonial era at Loldia House - a beautiful converted farmhouse, established by a settler who came here by ox-wagon after the Boer War and still owned by the same family. A gorgeous setting in the Great Rift Valley and impeccable Old World service make for a truly wonderful bush escape.

Breakfast and lunch are served under a spreading fig tree in the garden, while dinner takes place in the elegant dining room. Take a day trip to Nakaru to see the astonishing spectacle of the flamingo lakes and look out for black rhino, the elusive white rhino and myriad other rare wildlife, go bird watching on the lake, go for games drives, experience sundowners with spectacular views, take nature walks around the perimeter of the farm, play tennis or visit the children at the nearby Loldia school.

Accommodation

Guests are housed in nine bedrooms either in the old family home or in newer cottages in the grounds. All rooms are furnished in authentic colonial style, and there’s the lovely hilltop Loldia cottage, with its panoramic views and open log fire for larger groups.
