ESCORTED MINIBUS SAFARI

English speaking driver/guide from Day 2 until Day 5 in vehicles with maximum 6 passengers, all with a window seat and standing space when game viewing.

MEAL PLAN
Breakfast and dinner at Sarova Whitesands; breakfast, lunch, dinner on safari. Breakfast and dinner on the Kenya Coast extension.

ACCOMMODATION
3 to 4 star standard lodges. On occasion alternatives to those listed may be used according to local availability/conditions.

Pack binoculars, a sun hat and glasses, insect repellent, plus a warm jacket/fleece. Maximum 15kg luggage.

DAY 1 - MOMBASA
On arrival in Mombasa, transfer to the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa. Overnight in a Standard room in preparation for your forthcoming safari early the next morning.

DAY 2 - MOMBASA TO TSAVO EAST
Board your safari vehicle and drive to Tsavo East, in the heart of elephant country. Enjoy game viewing in the park, where you are almost certain to encounter spectacular herds of elephants - often dust-red in colour from the region's dry earth. You may also spot zebra and other plains game. After lunch in the park, embark on an exciting afternoon game drive in search of big cats and more, including a myriad of birdlife. Dinner and overnight at the Voi Wildlife Lodge - a large lodge which boasts a natural waterhole that attracts big game, and a thatch restaurant with wonderful views across the plains of Tsavo East.

DAY 3 - TSAVO EAST TO TAITA HILLS
After breakfast depart for the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary. A private conservancy, Taita Hills provides safe habitat for over 50 species of mammal and 300 species of bird. Enjoy a short game drive before lunch at the Sarova Taita Hills lodge. The afternoon game drive gives you the opportunity to encounter resident cheetah and lion. Dinner and overnight is at the Sarova Saltlick Lodge, set high on stilts overlooking a floodlit waterhole offering an incredible view of wildlife and game that often come to drink during the night.

DAY 4 - TAITA HILLS TO TSAVO WEST
Leave for Tsavo West National Park and a game drive en route to the Kilaguni Serena Lodge for lunch. During this or the afternoon game drive you will visit the renowned Mzima Springs, an oasis of crystal clear water that often attracts hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at Kilaguni Serena Lodge. One of the first lodges to be built in a Kenyan national park, Kilaguni's magnificent views include the snowy peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro, weather permitting.

DAY 5 - TSAVO WEST TO MOMBASA
After breakfast, depart from Kilaguni Serena Lodge. We highly recommend that you extend your stay in Kenya on the coast for a beach break - the perfect way to relax after your adventurous safari. Please see details of our Mombasa extension below. Alternatively, return to Mombasa for your onward journey (to avoid what may be a long wait for your flight at Mombasa airport, a private road transfer to Nairobi airport can be arranged at extra cost - please call for details).

DAY 5
After arriving back from safari, return to the Sarova Whitesands or any other featured beach hotel for three nights. Enjoy succulent seafood and relaxation on Kenya's beautiful coast (extra cost). Your stay can always be extended here by any number of nights with complete flexibility.

DAY 8
Return to the airport for your onward journey.
