Nairobi, Tsavo West, Amboseli, Treetops, Samburu, Sweetwaters, Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara

DAY 1 - NAIROBI
On arrival, transfer to the Southern Sun Mayfair Nairobi for one night in a Standard Room.

DAY 2
- NAIROBI TO TSAVO WEST
Your safari begins this morning with a drive south to Tsavo West National Park. After lunch you will experience your first game drive and a visit to Mzima Springs frequented by hippos and crocodiles and if you are lucky you will see them wallow and retreat around the crystal-clear waters. Stay overnight at the Kilaguni Serena Lodge (approx. 150 miles).

DAY 3 - TSAVO WEST TO AMBOSELI
After breakfast, drive to one of the most popular parks in Kenya, Amboseli National Park, home to around 900 elephant. Located near Mt. Kilimanjaro, the world’s tallest freestanding mountain, weather permitting you will be able to witness the snowcapped peak. Amboseli National Park offers the chance to encounter magnificent herds of elephant. Following an exciting afternoon game drive, you will spend two nights at Ol Tukai Lodge (approx. 100 miles).

DAY 4
- AMBOSELI
Experience early morning and afternoon game drives in Amboseli National Park, where, with its low vegetation, it is renowned as one of the best wildlife viewing areas in Africa. Look out for lion, buffalo, zebra and a diverse range of birdlife. The park’s dry and dusty form is due to the volcanic ash that came from Mt. Kilimanjaro on its last eruption, yet the lush green areas are a result of a continuous water supply from the mountain’s melting snow.

DAY 5
- AMBOSELI TO ABERDARE
Drive via Nairobi to Aberdare, with lunch en route in Nairobi. You will then check in to Outspan hotel, and leave the majority of your luggage here in order to transfer to Treetops, your spectacular viewing perch for the night. This unique property is famous as the place where Princess Elizabeth ascended to the British Throne in 1952. Game is attracted by the saltlick and waterhole and with four spectacular viewing decks and a rooftop platform, it is the ideal place to capture incredible close-up photographs (approx. 250 miles).

DAY 6
- ABERDARE TO SAMBURU
Enjoy an early morning tea at Treetops then return to the Outspan hotel for breakfast and to collect your left luggage. Drive north to Samburu National Reserve where you will spend the next two nights at Samburu Lodge situated on the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River. Experience the African desert at its best and as a lesser known park it is less crowded, with game drives on both days giving you the opportunity to hopefully spot leopard, lion and cheetah. This is the dry, north of Kenya and the reserve attracts wildlife not often seen elsewhere, so be on the look out for gerenuks – a unique gazelle with a long neck that stands on its hind legs to feed (approx. 110 miles).

DAY 8 - SAMBURU TO OL PEJETA

Drive south to the Sweetwaters Camp for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Visit the remarkable Chimpanzee and Rhino Sanctuaries. Incorporated within the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the sanctuary is the only place in Kenya where the highly endangered and remarkably intelligent chimpanzee can be seen and houses the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. Dinner and overnight stay at Sweetwaters Tented Camp, experiencing the charming ambience of under-canvas living (approx. 150 miles).

DAY 9
- OL PEJETA TO LAKE NAKURU
Drive via Thomson's Falls to Lake Nakuru for lunch. Here, due to an abundance of algae in the lake, flamingo famously line the shores. Sometimes (in season) all that can be seen is an incredible moving mass of pink! Enjoy an afternoon game drive hopefully spotting beautiful flamingos on the lake and the resident rhino. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge (approx. 110 miles).

DAY 10
- LAKE NAKURU TO MAASAI MARA
Drive to the awe-inspiring Maasai Mara and take an afternoon game drive. The most famous game reserve in the world, the Maasai Mara is what safari dreams are made of - rolling grasslands, wide open savannah and rich in African wildlife. Spot prides of lions basking in the shade, seek out an elusive solo leopard and have your camera at the ready for other spectacular wildlife including cheetah and hyena. The Maasai Mara is also renowned for the incredible annual migration of zebra and wildebeest. Three nights at Keekorok Lodge (approx. 153 miles).

DAY 11 - MAASAI MARA
Early morning, mid-morning and afternoon game drives in the Maasai Mara game reserve or perhaps take an optional balloon safari (extra cost).

DAY 12 - MAASAI MARA

Another full day in the Maasai Mara with early morning, mid-morning and afternoon game drives.

DAY 13 - MAASAI MARA TO NAIROBI
Return to Nairobi (approx. 160 miles) in time for lunch (extra cost). Spend the afternoon resting at the Southern Sun Mayfair Nairobi where you may wish to prebook a day room (extra cost) before your onward journey.
