ESCORTED 4x4 SAFARI

Kenya & Tanzania is escorted by English speaking driver/guides from arrival at the Mara Serena onwards. Extensions are not escorted but assistance is provided by our local representatives.

MEAL PLAN
Breakfast in Nairobi; breakfast, lunch and dinner on safari. Breakfast and lunch are included on the Mombasa extension (breakfast only in Arusha); breakfast on the Zanzibar extension.

ACCOMMODATION
On occasion it may be necessary to use alternative accommodation due to local availability and road conditions.

TRAVEL TIPS
Be sure to pack a mixture of warm and light clothing in soft bags weighing maximum 15kg, plus sunglasses, camera and insect repellent.

DAY 1 - LONDON to NAIROBI
Kenya Airways overnight flight from Heathrow to Nairobi.

DAY 2 - NAIROBI
On arrival transfer to the four and a half star Nairobi Serena hotel in a Standard room for a day at leisure and overnight.

DAY 3 - NAIROBI to MAASAI MARA
Fly by light aircraft to the heart of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve and the Mara Serena lodge for two nights. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the camps’ own four-wheel drive vehicles and overnight.

DAY 4 - MAASAI MARA
Thrilling morning and afternoon game drives in this game-rich central Mara location.

DAY 5 - MAASAI MARA to LAKE VICTORIA
Today drive to the Tanzania border, where you meet your Kuoni-exclusive vehicle to continue the journey to Lake Victoria and Speke Bay lodge for a late afternoon bird walk, dinner and overnight (approx. 110 miles).

DAY 6 - LAKE VICTORIA to SERENGETI
Enjoy a stunning early morning canoe safari on Lake Victoria before continuing to the vastness of the Serengeti, game viewing en route to Mbuzi Mawe, a delightful Serena tented camp in the park’s central region surrounded by striking boulders and grassland. Spend two nights here (approx. 95 miles).

DAY 7 - SERENGETI
Soak up the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives.

DAY 8 - SERENGETI to NGORONGORO
This morning take your final Serengeti game drive en route whilst exiting the park, then stop at the famous archaeological site of Olduvai Gorge before arriving at the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for two nights at the Serena Lodge (approx. 130 miles).

DAY 9 - NGORONGORO
Visit a Maasai Village this morning, take lunch at the lodge in the restaurant with peerless views over the crater, then descend to the crater floor to enjoy an afternoon game drive, seeking out the plentiful big game.

DAY 10  - NGORONGORO to LAKE MANYARA
Drive to Lake Manyara in the Rift Valley today, enjoying a walk, lunch and a visit to a local village before an afternoon game drive in the beautiful National Park by the lake shore. Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena (approx. 55 miles).

DAY 11 - LAKE MANYARA to LONDON
Drive to Arusha for lunch and some time to relax before transferring to Kilimanjaro airport for your Kenya Airways overnight flight via Nairobi to Heathrow.

KENYA COAST

DAY 11 - After lunch in Arusha overnight at the Mountain Village.

DAY 12 -  Fly Kenya Airways via Nairobi to Mombasa and three nights at the four star Serena Beach Hotel & Spa in a Garden room.

DAY 15 -  Return Kenya Airways flight via Nairobi to Heathrow, arriving the following day.

ZANZIBAR

DAY 11 - ZanAir (or similar) flight to Zanzibar for three nights at the four star Serena Inn in a Standard room.

DAY 14 -  Kenya Airways overnight flight via Nairobi to Heathrow.
